Bruce Boxleitner Joins Cast of Heroes

As previously reported, Brea Grant is coming aboard the cast of Heroes in the villainous role of Joy.

Now, we’ve received word that Bruce Boxleitner has snagged a recurring role that was originally going to be modeled after John McCain. We’re guessing this is the character that - originally, at least - was to be known as Senator Robert Malden.

Bruce Boxleitner has appeared in the shows Cold Case and Crossing Jordan.

Jack Coleman Dishes on Status of Heroes Characters

Noah Bennet PhotoWhile new Heroes may be coming aboard the show next season, we’re always curious about the state of past characters.

Thanks to a recent Jack Coleman interview with TV Guide, we now have an idea of where various Heroes will begin the new season. To wit:

  • On HRG: “I’m currently incarcerated and at the bottom of Level Five in the company facility. I think there may be an escape in the offing, but at a cost.”
  • On Hiro: “He’s firmly planted in Yakamoto Industries now. I think Hiro’s more the guy who starts out wealthy and comfortable and is very unhappy taking over his father’s business and needs the quest. That’s his destiny.”
  • On Claire: “She’s trying to use what she has for a greater good rather than just blend in and be anonymous”
  • On Mohinder: “He’s not as mild-mannered as he once was.”

Brea Grant Cast in Heroes

As previously reported, a new character named Joy will join Heroes next season. She’ll be known as “The Speedster,” likely due to how fast this new villain will run.

Well, that’s nice and all - but the actress that plays her wasn’t fast enough to avoid detection by our staff!

Brea Grant - who portrayed Landry’s girlfriend for a couple of episodes of Friday Night Lights last year - is coming on board to play Joy. Here’s a photo of the young actress:

Heroes Spoilers: New Character to Be a Villain

In previous Heroes spoilers, we posted the fact that a new character named Joy was coming to the show in season three.

Now, Kristin from E! has come out with more information on this Joy:

Look for a new villain named Joy. Her power is superspeed—she’s lightning-fast, like the Flash. Hiro meets her in a museum. He asks her if she has powers and if she is trying to steal some art.

She convinces him she’s on the up-and-up…and then makes off with a bunch of paintings. She’s described as a nymph-like character with the speed of a cheetah on, er, speed.

Heroes Producer Spills Season Three Secrets

TV Guide recently chatted with Heroes Executive Producer and Director, Allan Arkush. The man behind the scenes for the show talked about the upcoming third season, set to premiere on September 15.

Villains will take center stage in the upcoming chapter, aptly titled “Villains.”

“It will be really clear who these villains are,” said Arkush. “These are not necessarily characters you’ve met already. Obviously, there’s going to be a lot of Sylar.”

Will there be a mix of heroes and villains, though?

“One of the things that strikes me as so interesting about the [episode "Company Man"] was when H.R.G. says, ‘I’m very comfortable in the morally grey area,’” says Arkush. “Think about that. Just like when Nathan and Linderman were going to destroy New York for reasons they thought were correct. And who on the show seems to be able to make very hard decisions and has grown as a character? One of those people is Angela (Petrelli).”

Overall, Arkush promises, “one of the things that we’re going to explore is the very nature of these powers — where they come from, who has them, what the different aspects are of how they each got their powers and how it affects them.

That’s going to be a major storyline this year — the actual genetic essence of the power.”

Hayden Panettiere Blogs About New Movie

Hayden Panettiere has updated her MySpace blog. In it, she talks about her next movie, along with the upcoming return of Heroes

“Hey everyone! I’m in Vancouver right now filming a movie for Fox called, I Love You Beth Cooper. I’m having a blast filming and everyone is so nice. Chris Columbus is a wonderful director and one of my favorites so far. It’s very cool because I get to work with a lot of young people in this film and because it’s a comedy we get to be goofy all the time!

Hot, Hot Hayden

I’m very excited to get back to Heroes in May and see all my cast mates. I also just received the script for episode one and let me tell you, it’s great! Heroes is back to the action and adventure that went on in the first season and even the first episode is packed with cliff hangers and lots of cool stuff!

Hope all is well, thanks for checking out the site!
