Heroes Gossip: Are Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia Dating?

For the most part, we try to stick with Heroes news or Heroes spoilers on this site.

We leave the gossip to Perez Hilton, TheHollywoodGossip.com and other outlets.

But we came across the video below recently and figured it would be of interest to readers.

At a post-Emmy Awards party Sunday night, Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia were dancing rather closely. And he leans in a couple times to whisper in her ear... or even kiss his co-star, perhaps.

Judge for yourself:

Rumors have been swirling that these actors are dating, especially after Panettiere broke up with longtime boyfriend Stephen Colletti. Of course, she's only 18. He's 30. So it's understandable why the pair has been denying anything more than a friendship.

Then again, if Hayden and Mio were a couple, we could nickname them "Halo." That almost makes it worthwhile.

Nichelle Nichols Dishes on Heroes Character

6431.jpgThe Heroes spoilers are out of the bag: Nichelle Nichols will be playing a significant role in season two of our favorite series.

This former Star Trek star recently talked about her role.

"My character's name is Nana and it takes place in New Orleans. She's from New Orleans and this is right after Katrina," Nichols said.

Reportedly, the character has a connection to known Heroes from last season and new ones appearing in the next few weeks, as she reveals: "[I'm] the grandmother of a character in the show named Monica."

We know Monica is one of the new roles in season two and will be played by Dana Davis.

She's described as an avenger out to bring justice to the corrupt city of New Orleans. Connecting Monica, and Nichols' character, to last year is Micah. Nichelle said:

"Monica and her little brother are cousins to Micah, and Micah goes to live with them... "I am Micah's Great Aunt."

Watch Heroes on NBC Direct

Hiro Nakamura Photo Following the announcement that NBC had ended its relationship with iTunes, many Heroes followers were left to wonder where they'd get their fix away from the television screen.

Here's the answer:

NBC today discussed the launch of its new service, "NBC Direct," which will allow users to download and view NBC's popular primetime and late-night entertainment programming on their desktops for up to one week after broadcast.

This new feature provides yet another platform on which fans will be able to enjoy NBC Entertainment content. The announcement was made by Vivi Zigler, Executive Vice President, NBC Digital Entertainment.

"With the creation of this new service, we are acknowledging that now, more than ever, viewers want to be in control of how, when and where they consumer their favorite entertainment," said Zigler. "Not only does this feature give them more control, but it also gives them a higher quality video experience."

The first version of this new feature, which will begin beta testing in October, will allow users to download full length episodes for viewing on Windows based PCs. Each original episode will be licensed to users for viewing through "NBC Direct" for one week following broadcast and will then expire. The downloaded file will provide users with an improved overall viewing experience compared to traditional streaming video.

The list of programs available at launch will include "Heroes," "The Office," "Life," "Bionic Woman," "30 Rock," "Friday Night Lights," "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" and "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno."

Another Heroes Spoiler: Matt Parkman's Family History

Lawyer Talk Previous Heroes spoilers have revealed that the infamous "Boogeyman" referred to by Molly Walker in the season one finale will turn out to be Matt Parkman's father.

Now, Michael Ausiello of TV Guide has pretty much had that rumor confirmed... by none other than the man who portrays Parker himself. Here's what he had to say:

Ausiello: Only my BFF Greg Grunberg could get a flat tire en route to the Emmys and still show up in time to give me some serious scoop. "Parkman's family plays a huge role in the story behind the heroes," he said. "My character for once plays an integral part in what's happening. And it was a shock to me when I got [the script].

I was like, 'What?' But it's great because people have been saying to me, 'I really wish that you'd be more a part of the show.' I've been working my butt off, but it's been great."

Does this storyline intrigue you? Are you glad to see Parkman taking on more of a role, as it relates to the rest of the cast? Let us know on our Heroes forums right now!

Heroes Novel on the Way

Del Rey, an imprint of Ballantine Books at the Random House Publishing Group, has announced plans to publish a novel based on Heroes.

"Heroes: Saving Charlie" will be authored by Aury Wallington and will be an original novel based on the Hiro Nakamura (Masi Oka) and Charlie (Jayma Mays) relationship.

"One of the more memorable relationships in Season One was Hiro's first love, the waitress Charlie. We were as smitten as Hiro by that story and seized the chance to tell the full adventure of Hiro's six months in the past.

Aury Wallington was hand picked by the writers of the show for her brilliant voice for these characters. The novel is a welcome addition to the Heroes family," said Tim Kring.

Hiro and Charlie

The book - written with the full cooperation of the show's creators - will tell the story of Hiro and his mission to save Charlie from being brutally murdered by Sylar (Zachary Quinto).

While fans of the television series were given only a brief glimpse into Hiro and Charlie's relationship as it grew into love over six time-changing months, their history is told here with the depth and insight that only a novel will allow.

Del Rey celebrated the announcement of its Heroes book at the 2007 San Diego International Comic-Con by asking fans to help make 1,000 cranes at their booth by the end of the show.

Ali Larter and Masi Oka Present at the Emmy Awards

Masi Oka did not win an Emmy Award Sunday night. But he did take the stage during the ceremony:

Similarly, Ali Larter wasn't even nominated for Best Looking Actress with Dual Personalities. Still, she presented an award alongside 24 star Kiefer Sutherland:

Masi Oka: Hayden is My Hook-Up for Advice

When it comes to matters of the heart or the paparazzi, Masi Oka doesn't need to look far for advice.

His Heroes co-star may only be 18, but Hayden Panettiere has been through it all. Despite her break-up with Laguna Beach alum Stephen Colletti, Hayden is a reliable source for all the words of wisdom Oka requires.

Milo, Masi and Hayden "[Stephen] was a good guy," Oka, 32, told People magazine during the Emmy celebrations over the weekend. "But I'm really in no place to give her advice because I'm looking for love myself and I haven't had much luck there. I'm single and available.

Masi went on to say that the actress who portrays Claire Bennet is the one that helps him out in a pinch.

"She's the one that gives advice," Oka said. "I remember one day we went to this premiere and I didn't realize it was a press event and they were taking pictures and Hayden came up to me and said 'Masi, you have a hickey! We have to cover you up!' And I was like, 'Whoa. I didn't know that.' Hayden always takes care of all of us."

Oka, Panettiere, Milo Ventimiglia and the rest of the Heroes cast partied together all weekend - starting with the Emmy Nominees Reception Friday and on through Sunday night's Emmys post-parties - with Oka and Panettiere singing and dancing to Duran Duran at the Walt Disney Concert Hall following the ceremony.

We think we know who led.
