Ali Larter in Playboy

Don't get so excited, guys. There are no Ali Larter naked pictures in any issues of Playboy.

But there was a question and answer feature with the Heroes star in the most recent magazine. Here's how it went:

Playboy: Is Heroes a hit because it's a metaphor for modern times or a mirror of the human condition?
Ali Larter: It's struck a chord because people want to believe. The fantasy element gives people hope that there's something out there that can make things right. On the other hand, most of the characters are very real-life, and viewers can relate to people who struggle to pay the bills, get their kids to school. I guess you could read the human condition into it, go into Jungian theory, the shadow self.

Beautiful in Black

We try to rise above ourselves yet can't let go of the animal side. We repress stuff; we black out that which we don't want to remember. Do they really go away or do they stay inside of us and manifest themselves in different areas of our life?

All this deep talk... Don't make me sound silly!

David Anders Speaks on Heroes Role, Being Japanese and More

David Anders says he took the role of Takezo Kensi because it's "work." But in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, it does sound as though the actor is enjoying his time on Heroes, as well...

What interested you in Heroes?
Work. Also, Greg Grunberg had really pumped it up to me and made it sound like the raddest show.

When they told you the role was for Hiro Nakamura's mythic descendent, did you find it humorous that you're not, well, Japanese?
Not humorous so much as frustrating. Japanese is a very difficult language. But of course it's humorous. I'm dressed in samurai armor every day. I'm running through burning villages and taking out my sword and doing things with it. (laughs)

Takezo Kensei Pic

What's your character like?
He is an Englishman (switches to English accent) who came over on the feudal trade vessels that the emperor let pass and he stayed on to find his fortune. He came up with the name Takezo Kensei, because people are more apt to run from you when you have a good, fierce, fearful name. And he's not the hero that Hiro thought he was.

What's it like working with Masi Oka?
We have fun together. The only way you can keep from going crazy in armor out in the very hot, hot sun is to pretend like you're drunk.

Clips from "Kindred"

Yesterday, we posted a couple Heroes spoilers from the upcoming episode, "Kindred."

Now, we present a pair of actual clips from the third hour of season two:

Heroes Spoilers: Summary, Pictures of "Kindred"

For those that don't wish to read any Heroes spoilers about future episodes, turn away right now.

For everyone else, here's the official NBC summary of Monday's new episode, "Kindred," along with a couple photos from it:

Upon his return to New York, Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy) is unnerved to find an undiscovered Issac Mendez painting that foretells death of someone close to him. Both Claire (Hayden Panettiere) and H.R.G. (Jack Coleman) pursue their own secret personal agendas.

Determined to make it to the U.S., Maya (Dania Ramirez) uses her deadly abilities to free Alejandro (Shalim Ortiz) from a Mexican jail. Ando (James Kyson Lee) returns to his job in Japan and makes a happy discovery.

Meanwhile, in Japan's past, just when Hiro (Masi Oka) had written off Kensei (David Anders), his childhood hero surprises him. Niki (Ali Larter) and a lost Hero individually strike shady bargains to reach their goals.

Two familiar people with abilities make an unexpected return.

Anyone who has seen the commercial for this episode knows that one of the people coming back is Sylar (Zachary Quinto).

Heroes Round Table: Lizards

Welcome to our second Heroes Round Table.

While fans of the show gather in the forums to discuss every character and story line, our staff comes together every week to analyze the latest developments from the latest episode.

Topics in this edition include: Peter's bare, wet chest; the absence of Niki and Micah; and our feelings on Kensei versus Ando. Let's get to the Q&A…

Cooler scene: Peter with his shirt off or Claire cutting her toe off?

A. Hiro: Claire. Was anyone else screaming at the TV during that scene, "Grow back! Grow back!" No? Really?

Halo69: Peter. I find his story line among the more interesting of the 76 going on right now. And while I heart Claire, the whole self-mutilation thing is not as big a turn-on as you might think.

HeroesFanatic: I'd have to go with Claire. Those special effects were pretty darn cool. But it's safe to assume her portrayer, Hayden Panettiere, would go with a half-naked Peter.

Do you miss Niki and Micah?
Halo69: What I really miss are those photos of Ali Larter nude. Can we get those back up on the site? Just kidding. Sort of. Niki and Micah are cool, too.

HeroesFanatic: Yes. Molly Walker looks lonely and I wanna see if those sparks between her and Micah from last season are legitimate or not.

A. Hiro: Do I miss looking at Ali Larter and being impressed by a 10-year old boy that can put together a computer in less time than it takes me to answer this question? Come on. Is West sketchy?

A Masked HiroDoes Bob (from The Company) have the best interest of those with special abilities in mind?
HeroesFanatic: Only if their best interests involve being tortured and experimented on.

A. Hiro: No. I trust this guy about as much as I trust reports that Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia are dating. Come on. He's 30!

Halo69: Get outta town with this question. Bob is shady to the max. The better question is whether he is playing Mohinder or vice versa.

Preferred partner for Hiro: Kensei or Ando?
A. Hiro: Ando is loyal and good at speaking Japanese. But which of these sidekicks would you prefer to have a drink with? Enough said.

Halo69: Kensei is a cool character, but Ando, has really endeared himself to this viewer. You can't deny the great rapport Ando has with his cohort. He and Hiro are a natural fit... much like myself, Hayden Panettiere, a romantic Italian restaurant and a nice bottle of red wine. Yes, I'm 28.

HeroesFanatic: You know what they say: Bros before hos... and wussy drunks that pretend to be Samurai warriors. Ando is the choice.

A Guide to Heroes: New Book Offers Insight

Granted, if you're reading this site and posting on our Heroes forum, you're probably an expert on the show.

Nevertheless, a new book is offering insight into the world of Heroes.

It's called, appropriately enough, Saving the World: A Guide to Heroes. You can purchase it now at Amazon.

An Interview with Masi Oka

Masi Oka certainly has no shame about being labeled a geek.

He discussed this and other issues during a recent interview with Radar Online. Here are a few highlights from the talk:

Q: Do you think that, thanks to you, geeks around the world now have an easier time of getting laid?
A: I think I can probably help give people confidence and help them be more open about expressing who they are. But I'm bad with women.

Q: Oh come on...
A: No, I'm pretty bad. But Heroes definitely helped me improve my social skills, and helped me not get rejected so much.

A Proud Geek

Q: Your character in Heroes, Hiro Nakamura, is the comic relief of a mostly dark show. He takes his superhero responsibilities seriously and has a clear vision of what's good and bad. Do you see morality in those black-and-white terms?
A: There are things that are black and white for me, but I'm always open to the possibility of looking at it from another person's point of view. What might be right for you may not be right for some. Oh God, I'm about to sing the Different Strokes song! [singing] A man is born, he's a man of means. What am I doing? I must be really tired.

But you know, it's the people who think differently that change the world. Even the villains, in their mind they were doing something right. In no way am I advocating Hitler, but he changed the world. For the worse, but in his mind he was changing it for the good. And I absolutely do not agree with what he did, but I'm open to the idea that there are thoughts out there like his.

Heroes Spoilers: The Fate of D.L.

The discussions of last night's Heroes episode, "Lizards," is alive and well in our forums.

But one topic not being talked about among fans? Any story line involving Micah, Niki and D.L. And there's a simple reason for this: none of those characters have appeared in season two yet.

However, a mistake by the show and/or NBC looks to have revealed the fate of Mr. Hawkins. The following picture was taken from the official Heroes website, under the photo gallery for last night's episode:

So Long, DL

This scene may have been cut from "Lizards," but it's safe to assume we'll see it at some point in the near future.

The faces on Micah and Niki - as well as the inscription we can make out on the gravestone - make it apparent that D.L. didn't survive those gun shots from last year's season finale.
