I have a theory on Claire and why she is so important for Arthur to find. As we've seen, there are both synthetic and natural born abilities. With Parkman and his father, we see that a similar/identical power was passed from father to son. Meredith and Flint also have similar powers, along with Arthur, Peter and Sylar. So it would seem that if you were born with a power, it would be some variation of the same power the parent had. However, Claire, it seems, was born with a power unlike her mother. Sylar had commented on how Claire is unique and special. My guess is that Claire's power and her unique makeup is the result of a parent with natural powers having a child with a parent with synthetic powers...which created a hybrid. And because she carries both types of powers encoded in her DNA, she is the missing piece that Arthur and Mohinder need to perfect the formula. The central theme for season 1 was saving the cheerleader to save the world...it seems like the same theme is playing out here. By saving Claire from the clutches of Arthur, Peter and friends would once again save the world.
