  1. F.D. Says:

We might learn in another flashback how Chandra lost his memory, and how he got his Coyote Sands data back.

From the Haïtian to Arthur Petrelli, there are many possiblities. Basically anything could've happened in the span of time where he participated in these experiments, and lost Chanti. There's certainly a reason Primatech held a Virus bearing her name. Chandra probably worked with them for a while before taking off to India, likely after being partly brainwashed.

They could make several whole seasons out of what happened between 1961 and the moment Arthur attempted to kill Nathan.

  2. Sezza80 Says:

We'll have to agree to disagree F.D.. Being bothered with a kid and fearing for their lives are two totally different thigns in my mind, and if they were that concerned I still can't grasp their rationalising. Maybe they were just stupid teenagers, maybe I'm just disapointed cos prior to that decision I'd credited them with perhaps more intelligence than they deserved. Either way, it wasn't a bad episode there were just some contradictions to previous backstories (it wasn't made clear exactly how Chandra had his memory erased, seemingly, but still kept the files etc.) that personally irked me. It's still a great show, even the episodes I don't care for are miles ahead of other shows on telly at the mo. I jsut want to be blown away like I was with 'Cold Snap', I wasn't expecting such a wicked episode (hadn't seen one in ages!) and it restored my faith in the show, I just want that feeling every week.

  3. GUNSMITH Says:

I LIKED THAT IT ENLIGHTENED ME ON THE PAST, I DO WANNA SEE MORE FLASHBACKS, AURTHUR, KEITO, ADAM YADDA YADDA YADDA...BUT THINGS THAT I LONG TO SEE AND IM TELLING YOU WRITERS, FANS OF HEROES WANNA SEE...PETER WITH HIS POWERS BACK, A PETER VS SYLAR FIGHT, HIRO WITH HIS POWERS BACK, ACTION ACTION ACTION!!! THE NEXT ONE LOOKS LIKE A GOOD ONE, WHY YOU PIT PETER AGAINST SYLAR NOW WHEN HE ONLY HAS ONE POWER AT A TIME OR WHAT I LIKE TO CALL "THE DOORKNOB POWER" EVERY POWER GETS A TURN..I DONT KNOW..YOUR GONNA GET PETER KILLED AND THAT WOULD EXTREMELLY PESS FANS OFF. H'ES LIKE TO HEROES LIKE MICKEY IS TO DISNEY.

  4. Josh Says:

Im quite sick of how everyone bad mouths heroes. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but people there is going to be no opinions if you carry on because Tim Kring reads all these comments and he changes everything because of them which seems to make you people complaining complain even more. And this will only lead to the end of Heroes, which I don't want to see happen, I myself thought that this episode was really good the best episode since Cold Snap! And normally in any Tv show I hate flashback episodes but this was truly awesome!

  5. F.D. Says:

Sezza80 perhaps Charles just didn't want to be bothered with a kid and subtly used his power to convince Angela to not bring her along.

Everything doesn't need to be so obvious, although it's nice to see theories confirmed.

And by the way, my previous post was questioning why Linderman didn't heal Deveaux in season 1. Not Arthur. My bad.

  6. Sezza80 Says:

F.D., the leaving Alice behind thing personally bugs me cos it's not as though they were simply going out for the night to hang out etc.. Angela FEARED for her life and they were ALL concerned with revealing to the world/police that Suresh and his co-workers were dangerous (we don't know exactly what Angela dreamt but it scared her), why then leave any family behind?
I don't believe teenagers are that stupid that they'd leave her behind simply cos she was a younger sibling, especially when they knew of her powers (or at least Angela did). Charles came across as very smart to me (the other boys not so much) and that decision made him and Angela just appear idiotic and I didn't think that prior to that choice.

  7. ChenInhell Says:

А Вы не задумывались о том, чтобы параллельно завести еще один блог, на смежную тему? У Вас неплохо получается

  8. gwailo Says:

i think this was a nice ep love to see the flashbacks and understand more of angela:). Milcmann i think too that nathan wil die :):(:(

  9. SGN Says:

The reason this episode seems out of place but is not is that you are missing layers of symbolic meaning. Let me explain.

Alice's power is a reference to William Reich's experiments with orgone energy and weather control. Around 1961, this research was burned by the government. The character 'bob bishop' relates to robert anton wilson (who is called 'pope bob' by the church of the subgenius), who wrote about alchemy and psychedelics and things like that. When you see people with skulls in their foreheads being dug up, and angela says "you have to keep digging' she's talking to the audience, not to the other people. those holes in their foreheads relate to the concept of 'third eye' which involves both psychedelia and unlocking mental powers. flying represents getting high. Etc.

So a lot of the action here was driven by the symbolic level of the show that relates to concepts like sex magick, multiple layers of meaning, and esoteric theories in psychedelia (like stuff 'pope bob' ie 'bob bishop' wrote). At the level of a comic book story, it may have seemed out of place, but there is deep symbolism embedded in the story (at least when the good writers are back in charge) all of you seem to be missing entirely. Because the Danko storyline relates to the DEA and the war on drugs, this diversion made sense from the point of view of the symbolism embedded in the story the writers are laughing at you for thinking is about super heroes.

remember when the actress who plays angela said something about imagining the company was hatched at woodstock. that wasn't an irrelevant aside. 'you have to keep digging' to understand what's really being implied by the action. And when you do, it's brilliant. I thought this was one of the best episode yet.

  10. Derek Says:

This episode set up that this exact thing happened before, and that the company was created because of this. Angela wanted to get the family back together to create another "Company," so to speak, though this time perhaps one that is more of a family than a "Company."

  11. Unknown91 Says:

I definitely think that I really enjoy this episode so much. So, we finally know how Primatech Company was set up and whose idea was it to build that company. Oh, I'm glad to know what Charles Deveaux's power was. He's a powerful telepathy. And I think Peter's power(the old one) is still with him. It is just a matter of time for him to know that he's power is evolving like his dad.

  12. Milcmann Says:

    *purpose

  13. Milcmann Says:

Ratings are down because the same people that love Heroes also love 24 so they DVR heroes cause 24 is kick ass this season. Damn Fox did that crap on perpose.

  14. Milcmann Says:

FD if you will remember the flashback of the patrellis at some uppity up shin dig Linderman was dealing with Arthur until he couldnt keep Nathan under control. Linderman heal Angela's mind and baited her to kill Arthur. Linderman wanted Arthur out of the way.. Thats why he didnt heal him.

Devereaux had his ability at death. Thats why he spoke the way he did to Peter. I dont think he was a telepath I think he had a Silver tongue. Meaning he could convince people of anything he spoke or persuation by voice. If he had telepathy he would have known what the deal with the camp was.

I agree that this was the set-up show. Fuller came in so late in the season that he needed one entire Ep to bait the next season. The sis will either be the villian or another intrical part of the show. Plus it forshadowed a company birth. now that the next season is set up next week will be back to bad ass. Real Nathan DIES. Who wnats to put money down on it.

  15. PAIRLOVER Says:

you people all suck. How dare you not like this episode. It told us how the idea of the company was brought in, Nathan and Peter made up (kinda), and we learned a lot a about Angela's sister Alice and she may be a big part of the upcoming episode or season.Overall I do think that this episode was tad on the boring side but overall awesome.
P.S. CUT THOSE BANGS CLAIRE YOU LOOK TWELVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. Ben Says:

How long do I have to wait before Peter gets his old power back.
I'm giving them 2 episodes, if not then i'm out

  17. nmdsiue07 Says:

those are intriguing thoughts F.D. I don't think anyone knew Arthur survived, remember Arthur mind manipulated the doctor into making people believe he died and that he had been cremated

  18. F.D. Says:

Why is everyone so obsessed about WHY Angela left her behind? They were teens. Teens NEVER want to bring their little bros & sisters around. Charles said it: "She would slow us down." I can't see why everyone is making such a big deal about it.

The only thing I find questionable is how her reaction to Suresh started a holocaust. "A terrified girl running around? QUICK, let's shoot everyone!". Probably explainable by the fact that the military guys were tense and not comfortable with people with abilities, but it should've been more emphasized.

I personally enjoy these flashback episodes helping character development. They actually need more of them. For example, this episode basically showed us how Arthur obtained the mind manipulation ability. We'll need one to explain how it happened and why Linderman didn't heal him when he was sick since they were apparently buddies at some point. Did Arthur steal Charles' ability and Linderman purposely let him die? Or did Deveaux willingly give his ability away before peacefully passing out, refusing to be healed ?

  19. mike Says:

this episode was OK but could of been better. as for bob power is turning anything he touches in to gold , remember when sylar was fighting elle in primetech, sylar was holding a gun and told her see what your father could do, and turned it to solid gold. to many commercials on this show but maybe if ratings go up that will not show so many dam commercials. i do hope season 4 is better.

  20. B Says:

Surely the 'socks' thing explains why Angela got arrested for stealing in Season 1.

  21. hrgfan Says:

I liked the episode. especially at the end when angela watches her family sitting at the same table she and the boys sat in when the company began. and when sylar is masquerading as nathan.

  22. SamNoel Says:

I personally thought this was a good episode.
It actually had a point... it revealed how and why there group was started.
And the part at the end, when Nathan sees him self on TV was pretty badass.
Sure the episode could have used more Sylar, but it was good!

  23. nmdsiue07 Says:

Alice couldn't go because they were coming back anyway and the boys wouldn't let her come. Why is this a plot hole??

  24. FanOHeroes Says:

As for leaving Alice behind. Their intentions were pretty clear that they were heading out and going to get back after they alerted the authorities. Angela even said she needed to get socks for Alice before they got back.

  25. JDog Says:

Surely they should have had at least one reference to Adam being the dude who brought them all together.
