These are simply US ratings, Heroes is a global success so what happens in ONE country doesn't matter.

I BET that NBC knows that people watch it via Online or DVR as well. I dont think that they would cancel based on these numbers.

I too wish people would stop dicussing rating instead of how great episodes are getting.
It is not rocket science: people who stop following a show generally don't come back. On top of being fed up with a show's quality, they missed several episodes and don't want to come back while they missed several plot lines. In the best case, these people will buy/rent/burn dvds and be ready to come back next season IF the last couple episodes are exciting enough for their friends to talk them into watching them. In worst case NBC will have to deal with 5-6k ratings with next volume.
Not only is it online for free but g4 plays it tuesday and a it replays again at 6 on wed......and plus me and my friends get together to watch it on monday night so that's also 5 people in one room sometimes 6 and that's 5 or 6 tvs not tuned in...f*** ratings....

this season started off good, now they have gotten way off the story line.. much rather seen scenes like when agents try to get sylar. heroes were teaming up to take down the goverment force now its all totally different, with sylar and angela stuff now has nothing to do with the show when it first started..

I was bout to comment of this rating system also. First, the French Heroes forum once mentioned that the rating system was about to be modified so as to include online viewing (I'm not sure about the situation now and which country it's to be implemented in)and I agree this is a great idea.
Second, Heroes has a massive global appeal. Trust me, I've relatives spread in many countries and they watch the show. Third, as previously mentioned by Mysteryzac, how can Nielsen know exactly only 6m ppl tuned in? Coz 6m TV sets were turned on? Heck, I once had a bunch of friends watching together with me at my home.
So could I request to the weekly poster of this rating thing to pls give us a break? Every week is always the same thing. I get psyched with another winning episode and then I go to this website to see what the other fans think and there it is, the plummeting rating headline. It ruins my mood. So I think considering many TV stations are showing their shows online anyway, I really wish Nielsen will indeed modify their rating system
Good news! Heroes WAS NOT on a list of shows that will probably get the ax soon on the front of Yahoo tonight. Also, I totally agree with Agatha. Please stop telling us of the plummetting ratings it definitely ruins my mood.

people! they are probably jus sayin heroes could be cancelled in order to gain more viewers, jus coz the viewers may have gone down a little on the tv doesnt matter heroes is watched online, in the uk even we watch it on bbciplayer. Heroes wont be cancelled until the producers+creators+actors+writers decide it is.
Plus i just want to say how much im loving Angela this series, she used to irritate me a little but it turns out she is a pretty bad ass diva with a cool power plus shes a total klepto loves it! Angela is a smooooth criminal XD
