A New Style of Heroes Storytelling

Michael Ausiello has fantastic news for those that wish to see Heroes trim down its confusing storylines.

The Entertainment Weekly scribe says that's exactly what's in store for the next volume of the show, which is titled "Fugitives."

They're changing the style of storytelling," an NBC insider told the writer. "Instead of five or six stories to follow, there's more like three or four. It's like the first season in many respects."

That's entertaining music to our ears!

Claire and company will reportedly be involved in tighter storytelling next year.

Heroes Round Table: It's Coming

Welcome to our 19th Heroes Round Table.

While fans of the show gather in the forums to discuss every character and story line, our staff comes together every week to analyze the latest developments from the latest episode.

Topics in this edition include: New couples; Arthur's plan; and Hiro's future. Let's get to the Q&A...

Choose your favorite new couple: Parkman/Daphne or Sylar/Elle?
A. Hiro: Didn't you hear what Daphne said to Parkman? How can I not side with true love?

Milover: Sylar and Elle felt way too forced for me to take them seriously. Why was she chained up in the first place? And why would Arthur want Sylar to become an empathetic figure, as opposed to a mindless killing machine? Sorry to say it, but I don't buy the basis for this relationship.

Timex: Definitely Sylar and Elle. Did you see Sylar with his shirt off? Have you seen Elle in a bikini in Forgetting Sarah Marshall? All I can say is: HOT. Or I could have been cheesy and said "electrifying." Nah, let's go with hot.

Is Claire really the catalyst?
Timex: Sure, why not? Every other season revolves around her for no apparent reason.

A. Hiro: I'm gonna take a wild guess and say it's actually Ando. Remember how he kills Hiro in an alternate future? There's more than meets the eye to this sidekick.

Milover: A little. But at least he can hang out with Isaac in future-telling-painter's heaven.

Heroes Spoilers: Team Primatech vs. Team Pinehearst!

An eclipse isn't the only thing coming to Heroes.

As Kristin details in her latest review at E! Online, a showdown is brewing between good and evil. Here's a look ahead at the next couple of episodes, which will bring Volume Three to a (hopefully satisfying) conclusion...

Team Primatech vs. Team Pinehearst: Can Arthur be stopped before he destroys the world? We'll find out in the upcoming trio of episodes, as Mr. Petrelli's reign of terror finally comes under attack, leading to a spectacular showdown between the Heroes and the Villains in the last episode of this volume.

Power Outage: Nathan loses his ability. But it happens for a much more mechanical, tangible reason than when Arthur swiped Peter's powers from him. That was so mean!

Field Trip: Peter and Nathan soon go on a mission to meet the Haitian in his homeland. Next week, we also answer a vital question about the Haitian: Can he restore memories in addition to wiping them out?

Checking in with The Haitian

Viewers haven't heard from The Haitian in awhile.

But actor Jimmy Jean-Louis tells TV Guide that last week's inclusion in a couple of flashbacks is just the beginning of this character's re-emergence on Heroes. We're about to learn a lot more about him.

"We will get to know him in Haiti, get to know his brother, get to know him," Jean-Louis told TV Guide, adding that personal details are set to be revealed. "Does he have a girl? Does he have a few girls? Kids?"

The Haitian Photo

As for the criticism levied against Heroes this season, Jean-Louis has obviously been watching the show. He has a few suggestions:

"I'd definitely say, less action, and let's concentrate more on the characters. In the first season, we had a lot of storylines. And then, from time to time you had an action, and that's what got people hooked. But now it seems to be a little too much action, like you expect it. Every minute, there's some hero exercising his power. We have to reduce that a little bit, so when it comes, it surprises people."

What do you think? Good advice?

Heroes Caption Contest XLVII

Wow. Many readers chimed in and submitted entries to this week's Heroes Caption Contest. We appreciate every single one.

Despite tremendous puns, our staff chose "P.J." as the winner due to this user's recession-based response. It's funny because it's true!

Check out the winning submission underneath the photo; then scroll down to view the other options. Thanks to everyone that played and remember to do so every week!

Kristen Bell Stands Up for Heroes

Kristen Bell is an actress, but she's also a TV fan.

Therefore, she's aware of the criticism surrounding this chapter of Heroes. How does the portrayer of Elle feel about it?

Elle Pic

Bell recently shared her thoughts in a new interview:

I think everybody deserves a get-out-of-jail-free card for last year, with the writers' strike and the nerves. No good comes out of concentrating on the bad. But I think people might be saying that because they haven't seen all of this season yet. This season is really good. It's comparable to season one—which, start to finish, I think is up there with Lost and 24 as one of the best first seasons I've ever seen.

That's what hooked me onto the show, which was why I wanted to be a part of it. Season one was just amazing. And season two may have had its bumps, but they're bringing it back now.

Will Bryan Fuller Return to Heroes?

Bryan Fuller made his mark on the television world as a writer during the first (amazing!) season of Heroes.

Since then, he has gone on to be the brains behind the most underrated show on TV, Pushing Daisies. Tragically, that ABC series is in danger of cancellation, but there is a silver lining: Fuller seems intent on returning to Heroes.

“Well, nothing is official, because I’m under contract with Daisies until the delivery of [Daisies' thirteenth] episode, which is in January," Fuller told IGN in a recent interview. "But I would very likely go back to Heroes and help them finish out the season and see where that takes me in the next stage.”

Bryan Fuller

Bryan Fuller wrote the season one episode "Company Man." It's our favorite Heroes episode of all-time.

As for the criticism Heroes has faced over the last two years?

“The show is kind of its own entity, so the stories that they’re telling, they’re telling in different chapters," Fuller said. "So if a chapter might not be to your liking or to your taste, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the next chapter won’t be, because that’s kind of the idea – is to tell different chapters. That’s why the ‘Villains’ story is so different than ‘Fugitives’ or ‘Generations’ or ‘Genesis.’ So, they’re all so completely different that I think if you like the show, you’re going to find something to enjoy.”
