If Cloris Leachman can do it, then so can you.

Dan Byrd Cast on Heroes

Dan Byrd

According to Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello, the actor will take on the recurring role of David, a dark and twisted character who tells lies easily and has a cruel streak. He'll be a possible apprentice to Sylar (Zachary Quinto).

Byrd will appear in at least three episodes during his story line arc.

Heroes: A Series in Crisis?

The good news? A few Heroes cast members grace the cover of the latest Entertainment Weekly.

The bad news? The article is far from favorable.

In fact, the magazine's cover reads: “Oh great… Now the cheerleader, the world and the show need to be saved. But is it too late?”

Show in Crisis

Is Heroes a show in crisis, as the magazine suggests?

Yes, cancel it!
No, it's still entertaining!

Heroes Commentary: A Waste of Adam Monroe

Welcome to our weekly critique of Heroes.

It's a show we love - as we often must remind readers that misinterpret our analysis - yet it's one that can be awfully aggravating in its lack of logic and/or misuse of characters.

The focus is on the latter issue this week, as the death of Adam Monroe at the hands of Arthur Petrelli has our staff lamenting what might have been... and what used to be.

Monroe was the main villain last season. With Sylar sidetracked, the man formerly known as Takezo Kensei seemed like the perfect focus for the show. He and Hiro had great chemistry, that's for sure.

Adam and Arthur

It may have taken too long for him to escape feudal Japan, but eventually Monroe was established as a former member of The Company, a man imprisoned by Mr. Nakamura for his desire to destroy the world through a virus.

Heroes Round Table: Dying of the Light

Welcome to our 16th Heroes Round Table.

While fans of the show gather in the forums to discuss every character and story line, our staff comes together every week to analyze the latest developments from the latest episode.

Topics in this edition include: Adam's farewell; HRG/Meredith; and Papa Petrelli. Let's get to the Q&A...

Was Adam Monroe underused?
A. Hiro: Yes! This guy was the central villain last season; what was the point in even waking him from the grave if his entire role this chapter was to be killed by Arthur Petrelli?

Milover: No. Sometimes the most impactful death is the one you don't see coming. That's how I felt when Adam was, essentially, absorbed into Mr. Petrelli.

Timex: Totally. His interactions with Hiro last season were almost funnier than Hiro's conversations with Ando. Couldn't they have found a way to resuscitate Mr. Petrelli and keep Monroe alive?

Will HRG and Meredith make a good team?
Timex: Only if they go up against horny male villains who do nothing but drool over Meredith. The use of fire doesn't seem very effective against some of the bad asses we've met.

A. Hiro: I'm not a fan of Meredith's use this season. Previously, she was nothing more than a weak individual who used her ability to light a cigarette in her trailer. Now, she's proven enough to team up with my main man, HRG?!?

Milover: Maybe. But I'm just excited for when Claire finally partners with her father.

Heroes Spoilers: What the Elle?!?

So, Daddy Petrelli is a serious baddie, huh?

That was the major lesson to be learned from this week's Heroes episode. But what about the week to come?

Our thanks to Kristin from E! Online for this sneak peek at future developments on our favorite show...

All for One, One for All: Peter may have been stripped of his power, but Sylar retains his abilities - and appears to join forces with Arthur Petrelli. Will he become a pawn in Pinehearst's plan for world domination? It might seem that way, but keep this in mind: Peter and Sylar are both major mama's boys.

Danger for Daphne: A Hero is marked for death. According to insiders, producers planned to kill off Daphne toward the end of this chapter, but that plan has likely been scrapped. Do you wanna see the Speedster find her happily ever after with Parkman?

Elle Returns: Hooray!! Kristen Bell is back next week as Elle. Reportedly, her abilities now control her. She's overcome by the electrical forces within her, and when she can't find HRG to assist her, Elle goes with the next best thing: Claire. Indeed, next week Claire and Elle try to team up against Pinehearst.

Heroes Episode Guide, Photos, Quotes & More from "Dying of the Light"

The latest Heroes episode worked well because it remained true to the developing, constant narrative: a gathering of villains to serve the purposes of Pinehearst's boss, Arthur Petrelli.

In that context, we watched Daphne interact with (future husband?) Parkman for the first time, along with Sylar express actual feelings for Angela. Who woulda thought?!?

Read all about "Dying of the Light" now with our full recap. We'll add various quotes and new pictures from the hour as they come in.
