The first of our Character Interviews is with the girl whose saving would presumably save the world. Let's see how Claire Bennet feels about that and other issues...
The Fanatic: Save the Cheerleader, Save the World. That's a lot of pressure for a high school student. Can you talk about it?
Claire: The pressure was really on Peter if you think about [laughs]. I mean, I didn't have to do a lot except run. He fought off Sylar. But, no, we're all facing pressures, obstacles, you know? Other students who don't have powers are feeling it from their parents to do well on their SATs, get into the right college. You just gotta deal.
The Fanatic: That's a mature attitude. What was it like to meet your birth mother?
Claire: Emotional. I mean, I've always felt loved at home. That wasn't the reason I felt a need to find my birth parents. I just... I just didn't understand my powers. Seeing my real mother ignite her fingers like that, it was like a weight was lifted. I'm still unsure about her, but at least I know I'm not a lonely freak now [giggles].
The Fanatic: Talk about your relationship with your dad.
Claire: You've seen most of it play out. What else could I think at first but that this guy who I thought I knew was a liar and God knows what else. But now I understand better. He was trying to protect me and my brother and my mom. He got in over his head. At this point, after all that's happened, there's nobody I trust more.
The Fanatic: You're only in high school. But a lot of older guys appear to be checking you out. Does that make you feel awkward? And is there anyone you have interest in right now?
Claire: I'm blessed with a cute face, I guess. So it's flattering. But, sure, there are a lot of creeps out there. Just look at Sylar! Seriously, though, you gotta be careful. Still, it's nice to be considered pretty by anyone of any age. But I don't like anyone right now. It's hard enough trying to like myself sometimes.
The Fanatic: Don't say that. Finally, have you heard from Peter at all after he exploded? Do you know if he's alive?
Claire: No. But I pray every day that he is.
