  1. Who Shot Nathan?

My kids came up with an interesting suspect: Sylar. I'm still backing HRG as the shooter, but the young ones made some sense after re-watching the Saeson 1 episode Five Years Gone. In that one, Peter accuses Sylar of killing his brother. At the time the episode first aired, I just assumed Sylar killed Nathan the way he killed all his victims. But as Hiro's experience with the waitress in Season 1 showed, the fates of the characters seem predetermined regardless of what happens to change their current path.

So it would follow that Sylar is destined to kill Nathan in some way, if not by cutting off the top of his head then by shooting him. My problem with the theory is how Sylar got from New York to Odessa so fast.

I guess we'll have to wait until the fall to find out.

  2. WHEN IS THE NEW SERIES COMING BACK

If only it could happen that way Maj. I was a little ticked when I heard they were going to wait until the fall. I was really hoping for a good run of shows from April to June.

My hope is Kring is doing it this way so he can get a full set of shows in and better develop the story arcs as opposed to the rushed feeling of the later episodes of season 2. In retrospect, the second season is a weird mishmash of shows, with the early episodes dragging out storylines in Ireland and feudal Japan, and then a whirlwind of activity to wrap it all up, including a new ending, because of the writers strike.

If waiting until the fall means a full run of solid shows like the inaugural season, I'm willing to wait. It will be painful, but worth it.

  3. Who Shot Nathan?

The main problem I see with this theory that future Nathan travels back in time to shoot himself is that the moment Nathan of the present dies, future Nathan would also cease to exist. I get (and accept) that there are some inconsistencies with this show, but I think this is a paradox the producers don't want to touch. More likely the explanation is simple. I'm sticking with the theory that Bennett is the shooter.

  4. What Type of Villains do you want to see!!!!!!

The strike is nowhere near over. The only writers back to work are the ones working for Letterman's production company. The rest are still marching on the picket lines, and are none too pleased with NBC (the Heroes network, incidentally) for putting Leno and Conan back on the air without writers. Unfortunately, it could be a while before we see any new Heroes episodes. We may as well wait for Season 2 on DVD, as that is more likely to be out before the series resumes.

  5. What Type of Villains do you want to see!!!!!!

I agree with your last point in particular Maj -- I can certainly see this show going along an X-Men type of theme with two teams. But I don't see Sylar being part of a team. That's not his character. His character is about working alone and stealing the powers of other people with abilities. If he teams up with somebody, it's only to seduce them into a false sense of confidence so he can kill them later on (see Maya). In Season 1, the only person Sylar could work with/use was Mohinder, and that was only to acquire more powers. He didn;t Kill Mohinder because Mohinder didn;t have any powers to offer Sylar.

One power we haven't really seen yet is a plastic-man type of character, a la Reed Richards from the Fantasic Four. That could make an interesting villain. Neither have we seen super speed, like the Flash. Keeping with the X-Men theme, I wouldn;t be surprised to see a villain who can turn him/herself into a metal of some sort, just like Collossus.

  6. Who Shot Nathan?

I agree that the shooter is likely Bennett, but I don't think we can rely on the physical characteristics of the actor in that particular scene. Filmmakers use tricks like this all the time, using a double or another actor in a scene where we are supposed to be left guessing about the identity. Besides using this same trick in this season with Kaito getting pushed off the roof, examples dot Hollywood productions. One of the most obvious I've seen is in The Usual Suspects. When they are telling the backstory of Keyser Sose, they show a man walking out of a flaming building. If you have a good TV, you can clearly see they have actor Stephen Baldwin playing this role. Anybody who has seen the film knows Stephen Baldwin is not Keyser Sose.

With that said, I think Bennett is the shooter because that is basically his job with the company and he sees the threat exposure will pose to Claire. In this regard he is the most likely suspect. Of course, given the way this show has developed, past history means squat and this is nothing but conjecture. But I'll stick with my theory that's its Bennett and wait for Season 3 to prove me wrong.

  7. Peters Power is ridiculous.......

I'd like to add that I think there is a possibility of Peter getting the Haitian's power, because I believe the Haitian has to concentrate, or at least focus on/think about who he is blocking. We saw that with Matt in that bar in season 1, and also when Peter was running from him in the season 2 episode Four Months Ago Peter's powers were neutralized but Elle could still use hers. Thus, if Peter were able to sneak up on the Haitian, he may be able to absorb the powers. The challenges: a) Peter likely doesn't know what the Haitian's abilities specifically are, and therefore wouldn;t see the need to try and acquire them; and b) I'm not sure Peter is fully aware of what he can do or what his limits are. One thing we haven't seen Peter do is actively seek a power. He's more or less come by everything by accident.

  8. Peters Power is ridiculous.......

    Man I miss this show.

To Kathandra and Tito, I think the one aspect of the Haitian's power, that being to block other people from being able to use their powers, prevents Peter from absorbing the memory wiping and overriding powers. Keep in mind that Peter's core ability is taking on the powers of others. If the Haitian can block that, it logically follows that Peter would be unable to take on the Haitian's powers.

I also think that as viewers, we know more about what Peter can do than Peter does. He may have assumed that Bob has a power, but if I recall correctly, he never saw what Bob can actually do. So it is likely that Peter can turn metal into gold, he just doesn't know it. And it's not the kind of power that will surface for his use in a life or death situation, like Claire's regenerating or DL's ability to pass through solid objects. Nothing really lifesaving about turning stuff to gold, unless you plan on buying your way out of a tight spot.

  9. Support Nathan Petrelli!

    Good idea cadalyst.

This show needs Nathan. He's a balance for Peter's character. He's a heroe with untapped potential, but one who knows to do the right thing, even if it takes him a while. Plus, how cool would it be to see two brothers standing side by side fighting a company in which their mother is instrumental? He's gotta make it through this shooting.

Plus, I can never get enough of seeing Hiro shout "Flying Man!"

  10. How many episode's in season 3 ?

If I recall correctly, season 2 was supposed to be 22 episodes, but two "Volumes." I think it's safe to say the half they haven't done yet because of the writers strike will comprise at least part of Season 3
