What I don't understand is in the future how did Nikki survive when DL and Micah didn't, and how did Syler get DL's power? Because just before Future Hiro is killed Syler opens the door by putting his hand through it.
Also how did Future Bennet, Parkman and Suresh survive because they were all in the plaza with Peter and surely if he blew up there in the future the only people able to survive would have been Claire and Peter.

I'm confused. When present Hiro meets future Hiro, characters like parkman and niki are still alive. This is the unaltered future where the bomb goes off. Presumably they were present when the bomb went off just like we saw in the final episode (when it was stopped). Why then didn't they die in the explosion meaning they couldn't have appeared 5 years later.
I know Peter saved the cheerleader and this has knock on effects but I cant see how this would have prevented Niki for example not being there one way or the other. Perhaps I'm missing something glaringly obvious
