Is there going to be a third season or is the next episode the SERIES finale?

Since the other 22 episodes I believe to probably have been written already, along with its very good (but not as good as first season) ratings, it should come back, as all actors have great chemistry with each other, and would enjoy to continue this amazing story.

Not sure if episodes will resume as soon as the strike is over, or holding off til September.

Is this the last episode of the SEASON, though? Or will there be a 6 week hiatus and then the season 2 will continue?

When the season began, it was stated that chapter 2 would be 11 episodes long, there would be a 3-4 week break, then 5 more episodes, then another break and the final 7 or 8 episodes...

The reason they schedule like this is because (as stated by Tim Kring), the episodes air every 7 days, but take about 10 days to film. They began filming shortly after season 1 ended...  Also, the actress who plays Monica was on the Post Show on G4 a few weeks ago, and was talking about the episodes they were filming, and was eluding to abilities and things we haven't seen her do as of yet.

This is the chapter 2 finale next week. Chapter 3 was slated to begin in late December.

I thought Chapters ended when one of the major arc's were finished. IE Chapter one ended w/ the stopping of New York exploding.

Shouldn't Chapter two end w/ the prevention(or end conclusion) of the virus?

That will likely happen in next week's episode, NightVision. Just before the writers went on strike, they shot a new ending for next week's episode, and I theorize it was about stopping the virus. I believe the original intent was to drag out the virus threat over the course of a full season, but the writers strike has prevented that, forcing this truncated "season" upon us.

Which is bad for the season overall, because all the "holes" people keep mentioning in other threads won't be elaborated on, alot of things will have seemed pointless, where as if there were more episodes would have been well worth the viewing and explanation.

I am releived to see that other fans share my concern of how many episodes are left for the season.

Finale to me means end and since the reviews for Heroes in the beginning were so bad, is this being cancelled without NBC (like other stations) leaking a word about it. Maybe they don't want to be inundated with whatever object can represent the show as a show of support by fans.

The show's plots are getting stronger.

And who does Nielsen track anyway?  Thousands of dorms watch this show.  That should count for something.

Heroes is the most original and refreshing show to come along.  NBC can have 2 ld standbys hobbling along - ER and the cancelled Law and Order but will keep them in the lineup unless a new reality show comes along which costs them next  to nothing.

Yeah, this strike is a real b!tch. It really messed a few things up, and ulitmately can mess it all up. This better get resolved ASAP.

No one with half a heart to watch TV should want Heroes cancelled. It's better than x-men, and let's face it, x-men had a great run. Heroes lets your inner-child indulge while satisfying you more rational need to be entertained by a good story.

This TV show has been shot like a chapter per episode of a book and let's face it, the books are always better than the movies. Hopefully support for this show will shoot up and NBC won't be so silly as to cut off what has the potential to be an award-winnig show.
