Peters Power is ridiculous.......

Am I the only person who finds Peters power annoying?   I mean seriously he largely makes anyone he comes into contact with redundant.

Its not like similar powers havent been presented in other mediums before but in every example I can recall there was always some kind of limitation like needing to be in close proximity to the person who's power is being mimiced or only being able to use the power of the last person you came into contact with.

Even Sylars limtation is OK he at least needs to kill the person and eat their brain.....

Well, his limiting factors aren't much, your right, but he is limited by absorbing too many too fast, which we know resuls in him shutting down. But he sill has to realize them and learn how to use them. But, yeah, they could of made it where he had to give it more effort to get the ability. Like, being around the person and watching them use their ability or having to understand/get emotionaly close to the person in order to absorb the power. Although, I have to say, I like they way he just absorbs the abilities by being next to the person.

I don't find Peter's power annoying.  I find the writers' use of his powers annoying.  He mostly seems to use powers that we didn't know he had (phasing, electricity), and seems to conveniently forget the powers we know he already has (strength, atomic, flying).  For example, why does he run, when he can fly?  Why does he phase when he can punch?  It's as if they think it would be totally unfair for him to be able to use everything.  Yes, I understand he can't control everything, but it's too annoyingly and conveniently selective.  I want see him progress in his power.  This 'oh, I have too much power and I can't control it all and I'm still learning' is getting very old.

I agree. I think he really needs to perfect his abilities and use them more and not be so reluctant.

yeh peter sucks. he needs to go to hero school and learn how to use his powers properly.

i was also horrified in season 1 when i found out he could absorb others' powers ...forever! it totally eliminated the need for team work. how are they going to make a computer game out of this? everyone's gonna want to be peter!

they definitely should have put limitations on it.

Peter's abilities are ridiculous. I couldn't agree more. So far writers have had to use soap opera writing to tone him down. First he was a scared wuss and now he can't remember who he is. I mean how many times has amnesia been done on a soap opera? It's lame there and it's lame here. Pretty soon the writers are gonna be forced into a corner with no intelligent way for them to write themselves out of it.

The only way I can see it working is if they delved deeper into his limitations. Only one power at a time. Or for him powers work like skin cells. Meaning he absorbs them but then after a certain amount of time his body get's rid of them to prepare for new ones.

Seriously by now Peter should have...

Flight,Regeneration,TimeControl,Teleportation,Superstrength,Invisibility,Painting the future,Radiation abilities,Phasing, Technopathy, Electrical Generation, Power Negation, and Memory Erase

Add to that the powers he should have gotten from Sylar

Telekinesis, Total Memory Recall, Cryokinesis, Metal Liquefication, Enhanced Hearing

(Read the above out loud to yourself and see how ridiculous it sounds)

and how do they wind up trying to make it feasible that Peter isn't practically a god by the end of last weeks episode? The have him do the amnesia thing...

Am I watching Days of our lives???

Peters power is a GREAT Feature...he is so Similar to Rogue from the X-Men...but the one thing I have to admit is that I agree with Hiroworship that with Peter since he can absorb forever....as soon as he "Perfects his use" of his powers ...PETER CAN IN FACT BECOME A GOD IN NO TIME!!! Which then technically means Peter is the whole Highlight of the show...and you wouldnt really need the other characters....yeh they shouldve put some limitation on him like for instance Rogue's case was that she can absorb abilities by "touch" and ONLY for a temporary period of time.  That limitation alone ment that Rogue was a team player, and not the whole team herself.

Can you imagine though...Since Peter has all those abilities...The Xmen, Fantastic Four, Justice League, Spider-man, All Marvel and DC comic characters combined wouldn't be able to stop him.  ~~THAZ CRAZY~~~ I say!!!!
