Reply to PostClair is so cool not being able to die. The only person she has ever trusted is Zack, her friend in the first season. I wonder what ever did happen to him. It would be cool to bring him back to the second season and give West some competition cause i dont really like West.

he was always totally hitting on Claire all the time, well it seemed like he was jelous of that quarterback guy and West is a totally wicked character, how can u not like him? And he's HOT!

Dude, heroes fan.......if you were a guy, I'd tell you to turn your gaydar on. Zack was totally gay, but he embraced it and was not ashamed of it - just didn't flaunt it. So he wasn't flaming. He loved Claire with a sincere "friendship type" of love. It's usually women who have a harder time telling if a dude is gay, while guys can smell them a mile away. He may have just been jealous of the quarterback taking time away from their friendship, not a romantic or sexual jealousy.

They said he was gay on the show. That is why the cheerleaders kept saying "only one person can wear the tiara".
When Claire wanted to take him as her date, he just said "I am OK with who I am...", talking about how he is gay.

Actually, I don't think he was supposed to be gay at all. For one thing, there was the moment in the first episode where he tries to check out Claire's boobs after she jumps off the tower and has to pop her broken ribs back in place. A gay guy wouldn't bother. Then, there's the fact that Claire is always asking him questions like, "Are you flirting with me?" (which she wouldn't ask him if he was openly gay and it's obvious that he IS flirting with her) and she eventually asks him to be her date at homecoming, saying she doesn't care what the people at school call him. He never confirms that he's talking about being gay when he says that he likes who he is. I personally think he's referring to the fact that he's not popular and is considered to be a freak, and that it doesn't bother him when people pick on him. Ultimately, it doesn't matter 'cuz he's been written out of the show.
But yeah...West sucks. I have no idea what Claire sees in him at all. He's slimy and pushy and...ick. Zach was definitely much more appealing.

Brit, you're right that Zach never openly admitted he was gay, but originally, he was indeed supposed to come out of the closet. The intention was to make Zach come to accept his homosexuality at the same time that Claire was coming to terms with her power, thus putting them in the same boat and giving both of them someone who could relate to their problems. However, when Thomas Dekker's agent found out that where the writers were taking his character, she immediately put up a fuss because she was afraid it would keep him from getting jobs in the future, so eventually they just wrote him out of the story.
And I agree...West is creepy, greasy, and pretty much ugly, lol
