UGGG. I can't stand West.
Zach was so much more appealing to me. He was adorable, and he embraced who he really was. I really admired that about his character, that despite being labeled a "freak" he was able to live his life.
The relationship between Zach and Claire really was what kept me interested in the series when I first started watching it. Originally Zach's character was supposed to be gay, but no one had actually communicated that to Dekker or his agent until much later, so while Dekker was to play an eccentric character, his character hadn't been written into the script as gay. In fact Dekker even said in an interview that he portrayed Zach as a loner with a burning love for Claire he just never said alloud. When the script writers mentioned Zach's character was to be homosexual, THEN Dekkers agent spoke up. Dekker has no problem playing gay as he enjoys the challenge apparently.
Zach wasn't written off because of the "Gay controversy", but Thomas Dekker was actually told he could not appear in the series due to his beginning to film the Sarah Connor Chronicles and 2 movies.
Rumor has it Thomas Dekker may return in a cameo or something if Sarah Connor Chronicles is a flop. A lot of fans miss Dekker on heroes and the character of Zach he portrayed.
Oh. I also read in an interview, that West was only signed for half a season. LOL. I'm actually happy. They can't replace Zach with West. He doesn't have the looks or the sweet personality that Zach did. LOL. In fact I don't think I've seen one episode with him in it where he doesn't say something about himself flying... >>
