she has a nice storyline....the way she has to figure out who she is and about her ability all alone makes her a better hero than others.....she even kicked sylar's ass by hitting him with the pole..and she didnt even knew any of them..that makes her a heroe...

I don't know if this is true, but I read in Wikipedia that Jessica was Niki's dead sister.

Well, when Matt was being a bodygaurd for that guy, he heard Jessica and Nikki in the stairs talking to 'each other'. He also seemed to think it was two different people. So I think that the split personality was a negative effect of her ability, that she was finally able to overcome in the end of season 1.

exactly....Nicki created jessica when she realize that her sister died...come to think of it i think it wasnt her dad, but nicki herself with her ability, or not killed her, but she couldnt save her....
thats why nicki is so afraid of her powers cause she doesnt know how to use them...by creating Jessica, she becomes a savior in its way, a more physical person...i think jessica was the side of Nicky that just wouldnt let her live in peace until she realized what she was capable of doing..even though she couldnt save her sister from Daddy's beating...jessica was there to save her when daddy used to beat them...

Hmmm... from the newest episode (Kindred) I've come up with a theory - I'll post it in the general discussion cause I don't know where else it goes, since it's not particular to any one character or episode.
Also, just curious - is their a mod/admin to this forum? If so who is he/who are they?

Lets try another slant on this. Jessica and Nicki were twins since they probably were identical they both probably had abilities. Since even in twins the nucleotides of the DNA can vary its possible the abilities they had were different. There is a ability in the comic world called astral planeing. Is it possible right before Jessica died she astral planed her consiousness/sole into her twin sister Nicki and now they coexist? Just a thought.
