Wow, Anu naki...I never would have thought about the subtle religious undertones of the show, but now that you mention it...there ARE a lot of similarities between the Peter/Sylar and the Jesus/Satan situation. I didn't think much about it at the time, but on one of the commentaries from the first season, Sendhil Ramamurthy (Mohinder) made a comment on how he'd been talking with Tim Kring about the religious undertones present in the show. For instance, many of the character's names (Isaac, Peter, Nathan, Gabriel, Eden, Matthew, Noah) were all mentioned in the Bible. And of course there's the whole "good conquering evil" aspect. Now that you've pointed out the biblical similarities, it really does all come together. Not that I'm saying Tim Kring is trying to preach or anything, because it's all done very subtley. But I definitely think it's there.

wow! this is such an eye-opener..i've always thought of peter and hiro as characters who are able to bring a light-hearted approach to an otherwise serious show...i neva would've seen any religious references...i mean i knew of other under-lying themes and subliminal messages...but now i see that there's soo much more ..it's simply brilliant! gosh..this is just one of the MANY reasons why i adore this show! it's just soo fantastic in every sense and it caters to almost everyone's needs! yes even shallow arseholes like fN-sweet..

And ofcourse the whole Adam being immortal could be a reference to Adam from Adam and Eve. The oldest human, or even the first one with powers.

Yeah, Adam being the first or grandaddy of all the heroes seems to be a nod to Adam from the bible. And the very first episode was titled Genesis (related to genetics also) and I've heard a rumor that a certain upcoming episode acting as a transistion to be called Exodus.......amen!!

You guys are so stupid. This show has nothing to do religion. It's all just coincidence. I wouldn't watch it if it had anything to do with religion!
I rebuke you satan!

okay, you're right ploya - we don't know shit. I'm satan and since you have rebuked me, I will go away. Take care.....

ploya you are an idiot, just because a show contains religious symbolism doesnt mean atheists shouldnt watch it jeez!! Stop being so moronic, religious symbolism just adds depth to art, almost every great work of literature in existence has religious symbolism infused into it. Its just a form of expression, its completely juvenile and idiotic to say you wouldnt watch it if it had anything to do with religion because whether or not you follow a religion has completely zero relevance!
