Has anybody ever wondered what Sylar does to get the ability he takes from his victims. We all know about the Whole "Cutting the Head Open" thing, but what does he do after that? What does he take? Is it a piece of brain mass or something else? How does he put it into himself? Does he Surgically put it with in himself or inject it?
Anybody got an answer to share.
Yeah I was wondering about that. I figured he just put his ear up to it like he did with the watch when we first met him.
I wonder if he needs to take it out and disect it much like he had to do with a watch, to basically learn what part of the brain allowed that person to have their ability. Interestingly, that would mean that it's not a genetic change, but something that can be learned in the brain to be done. Unless Sylar's genetic change is that he can mentally manipulate his genes to "learn" the ability.
Maybe they should have Mohinder torture him again and get more information about how sylar implants his new power into his own body. Sylar already knows what element of the body gives the person their powers because hes extracting it with cutting peoples heads open. This could be the answer Mohinder is looking for on the bodies source where the person's power is originating from (which is obviously something in the BRAIN) and just like Jim said something possibly non-genetic. I hope they show what Sylar does after he opens the victims head. Any other theories?
It was my understanding that Sylar had the power to work mechanical things. That's why he was able to fix watches. When he cuts open people's heads, he looks at the mechanical configuration and then cuts open to his own brain to adjust it.
If he cuts open his own brain...wouldn't that kill him? He doesn't have the power to regenerate.
His power is the ability to "Know how things work".
He found out how these "powers" work, and he uses that information to steal their power. He knows it deals with the brain, thats what Mohinders father told him. Its all in the brain!

Well alot of my theories were ruled out when I kept coming back tot he fact that he got his first power with still the only ability he had being Knowing How Things Work. We know he doesn't eat brains, the show is trying to stray from the zombie jokes going along with that. we also know there isn't any machinery involved (Large machines) because he can take powers while on the road with Mohinder. Perhaps with the enhanced knowledge he posseses knowing how things work and all, he can look at the brain of his victims and then "uinlock" that certain part of the brain that makes it possible to use that power.
