Okay, first of all, sylar cant use candices ability because he has the shanty virus, and if u wach carefully, you realize that the virus attacks the parts of the brain that is in charge of engaging in any use of any super power. Also, I think that the cockroach is a symbol of evolution taking place, evolution need not be simply constricted to genetics etc, it can be related to how heroes are adapting, evoluting, or there journeys onto becoming heroes, I think that’s wot the cockroach represents, and also technically, the cockroaches ability to regenerate and re-grow its own head couldn’t be taken by sylar, there two different species, there bodies are made differently, that’s why a cockroach can re-grow its own head, look it up, technically I think im rite, but wotever if im rong, please say so lol, and also, I know ur thinking-he cod take claires ability, but lets remember, shes human, and so is sylar. And also, the boogie man isn’t sylar, its Bob from series two, his ability is, he controls anything the brain of another beings controls. I don’t think sylar eats brains, think about it, if he ate them, they would be mashed up, totally mixed up, it’d be impossible for his digestive system to learn anything from that loool, by best bet would be, for example, wen a mathetmical genious who hacks for a living looks at a list of code, somehow sees the pattersn and the brain puts it all together to reveal a series of digits, the same way us humans can understand whats coming up on the road ahead while we walk, and not having to look at it directly, sub-concious thought, so my point is that, maybe sylar sees this just from looking at the brain visually and even dissecting it, technically he should be able to absorb other abilites (not super powers) as well as powers, such as martial arts, juggling, knowledge, the greatest power of all. Wot do ya guys think of that ^ lol,
What powers does Sylar have?

i also have a theory, as to why sylar was pushed back by those bullets, lets look at it like this, sylars a rugby player, and the bullets are a rugby ball, the balls flying towards the player and the players ready to catch it, *im replacing hands with telekensis), okay so he catches the ball and it inevitbally pushed back slightly to absorb alot of the impact and dispense it out in various forms of energy, if u do physics u'll know wot i mean, about momentum impulse etc, so if we look at sylar now, he catches the bullets with his mind, and the force the sheer force of the bullets pushes him back, if we take the equation F=MA, so force = mass times accerlaeration, a bullet of a tiny mass say 2 grams multiplied by the un-imaginably accerlation of 4.4 × 105 m/s2., and also take into considetion this particular accerlation has a final velocity approximate to 600m/s, so we get a force of around the accerlatio i stated multplied by 2 times 10 to the minus 3, so finalyyyyy, the force given is phonomenal, i.e, why a bullet can pierce metal etc etc, , , if you've ever seen a real bullet shot at a person, they always fall back due to the force, even if u wear kevlar, it mite not pierce you, but the force can break bones, so thats wot i think anyways aobut the hole sylar thing, my theory, wot do ya thinkk? people?

Ok. One thing that has always been bugging me is the whole Sylar-Clair regeneration thing. There's a whole plot line around Sylar trying to find and kill/steal her ability but not only once but twice does Sylar exhibit the ability to surive being shot! 1)Matt and the blonde FBI agent corner Sylar and Matt pops a few rounds in him while Sylar's trying to get the FBI agent to shoot herself. Sylar mysteriously disappears moments later and later appears in future frames with no problem what so ever. 2) "Noah" Benette fires off 2-3 bullets into Sylar (dressed like a guy from Primatech Paper) in the Benette home when Sylar's standing over Mrs. Benette's body. Sylar then, not seconds later, is up and running out the backdoor.
WTF!? Anyone have any thing?

id stick with my theory shown above^, but that does sort beg the question. why does sylar always fall down during the begginig assaults against him via bullets, and then in the the last episode, we see him easily stop 5-6 bullets with no flinch at all, maybe! his power is developing, the way parkmans ability starts to develop in the second series, so maybe sylars ability to understand how things work is becoming more in depth (bear with me) and it able to extend the ability to a stronger degree, but who knows lol ?

With experience of real telekinesis i think i can shed some light. the bullets don't make sylar move backward, as his body doesn't stop them, his mind stops their own energy, there would be no energy transfer to his own body. about the bullets not hurting him? in a graphic novel when he escapes texas, the bullet wounds slow him down. i'm guessing his reactions sometimes aren't fast enough to stop the first bullet. maybe he moves himself backward to try and escape the bullet. in the final episode sylar is so focussed on the climax of what he's been doing, his reactions are honed, so he can stop matt's bullets fast. another theory is that by now he's got super-hearing, so can hear matt's footsteps, even the firing pin in the gun.

Another question, what did Sylar get from James Walker, Molly's dad? (the guy frozen in episode 2 with his head cut off.) and don't say 'freezing abilities', as james's hand is in mid-air, and so was freezed while alive, not post-labotomy. so, what did walker have that sylar now has? and btw to another theory up there- it's alluded to that sylar eats people brains to assimilate DNA, which is a major theme in the programme! mashed up in the digestive tract? dna doesn't get mashed up easily, i think.

Ok people, look I THINK that i have the answer. Ok you know in season one, the episode called "Five years gone" well remember when Claire came home and found nathanin his office. Well, turns out that nathan is really sylar, so he obviously got the power to turn into anyone from that one girl who works for linderman who is now dead, anyway, when claire walks out of the room from getting into a fight with nathan/sylar, sylar turns into his form and then he cuts off claires head. Then, after taking claires ability, he traveled back in time and thats how he got the power to regenerate. Remeber when that happened, (Bear with me!) do you know what im talking about?

Sylar can do the following:
- Know how stuff works (thats his original)
- TK, from the nervous guy who could shake cups
- Freeze Stuff (Molly's dad was found that way, he was probably testing out his knewly acquired power)
- Charlie's memory (she didn't die of a disease, that was just what would have happened, at the end of that episode, you see charlie dying again from sylar)
- Zane's melting (most useless power ever)
- Super hearing
- Issac's future paiting
- Sprague's blowing stuff up.
- Candice's illusions
He does not have Eden's power since she blew her head off, making him unable to do whatever with her brain, the demonic voice was just added for dramatic effect (Peter does it too) according to writers. He did his brain thing with Candice's power (which he probably remembered how to do since he had done it so many times even though he didn't have his "how stuff works" power) and should have it, but can't use it because of the shanti virus. You know he took her brain becuase after he leaves, he tries to use it but it doesn't work.
A big part of the story is about evolution and survival (there are numerous mohinder narrations about this, most referring to the whole Nikki/Jessica ordeal) and cockroaches, according to mohinder, can survive loads of stuff. According to writers, the cockroaches symbolize sylar's survival (one in lab, where he survived, one at end of season one, where he survived, one in middle of season 2, when he just got out of a near death experience while sleeping on the street).
That was a long post

On the topic of sylars abilities he has the following:
Cryokinesis-freezing
Telekinesis-its how he cuts the heads open
Intuitive Aptitude-he understands how things work and knows they work
Radiokinesis-ted's explosive ability
Precognition-the ability to see the future, it has nothing with Isaac's ability to paint, although i could explain that and will further down.
Molecular Deatomization-Zane taylor's ability, not the most useless ability, again i'll explain later.
Illusion Casting-Candace's ability, agian i'll explain later
Eidetic Memory-Charlie the waitress
Super Strength- unknown victim, ill explain later
Enhanced Hearing- Dale Smither, the mechanic lady that didn't have any revelance to the story
First let me explain how he obtains the power. If you take two tapeworms and taught the first to navigate a maze, then ground it up and fed it to the second. The second would then be able to navigate the maze because the first one could. It learned everything the first knew. Now let's apply this theory to Sylar using Isaac's ability to paint. He ate Isaac's brain, right!? So we automatically know that he is going to be able to see the future, not necessarily paint it though. Now, because he now can do whatever Isaac could do, he can paint. Combine the ability with the skill and viola!!! Sylar can now paint the future. Apply the same process to his other victims and you have an explanaiton. One more example of this is Mohinder calling him a parasite, aren't tapeworms parasties as well???
Zane Taylor's ability is not useless at all, and bollocks to all who think so. It's extremely dangerous and powerful if he would practice. It would essentially mean Invunrebility. All he would have to do when some tried to hit him would be to hold them off with telekinesis and then put his hand up to them and they would melt. So all of you who said it was useless, think agian.
Yes, you're all right he couldn't use Candace's power because of the Shanti virus, but what you don't know is that it tis the same strain as Niki's. That means someone injected him with it. I wonder who? But based on the Volume Two conclusion I think we can all agree that he will be in full use of all abilities once he "rises" again.
Now, something you probably don't know is that he has super strength aswell. It was from an unamed victim and no location disclosed, but how else would you explain the devasting throw he gave Claire in Homecoming? Or when he was able to hold the parking meter without difficulty, trust me that wasn't telekinesis.
The cockroach does symbolize survival, but not just for Sylar. It symbolizes it for all of the Heroes, and I suppose Villians now. Remember when Matt Parkman, I'll refer to as Parkman from now on, was held captive by the company? I do, but Parkman's not Sylar. Yes, it does show up more frequently when associated with Sylar than anyone else, but not only wiht him.
There you go, that is the truth and not a bit of it is a lie. You can email me if you want to at bayzuun2009@yahoo.com. Just don't spam please. I'm good at finding things out about this show, so please if you have questions, ask them via email.
Thanks Everyone.

Sylar probably doesn't have super strength, or they would have made it more obvious. First of all, the throwing of claire could have easily been assisted by TK, and if he had super strength, then he would have been able to fend of Nikki and Peter (when punching sylar with Nikki's power) at kirby plaza, something he couldn't do. Zane's power is useless when in comparison to all other powers sylar has. Why melt someone when that takes a little time and concentration (it took him at least 5 seconds to melt the wrench etc. when you could just TK someone in half, or throw some stuff at them, or blow them up, the list goes on. I don't think that sylar acquires all of the person's skills when he "eats" them particularly because the same thing happened with Peter (who did not do any eating). At first, peter could only draw stick figures, but after meeting Mr. EEsak (hiro saying issac lol) he was a brialliant painter (kaitlin says this, who is also a painter so it must be true). Therefore, I think Issac's power is painting, not seeing the future, also because he is normally in a trance when he does it and forgets what happened after leaving it.
Also, couldn't Peter and Sylar (Ted could before he was killed), end the entire world's energy crisis by providing an unlimited source of radioactive energy? I mean Peter wants to save the world, as do many people in the show (Linderman, Hiro .......) and what better way to do this than to stop millions of people from dying due to insufficient energy (much more than would have died from the new york explosion).
