Welcome to our tenth Heroes Round Table.
While fans of the show gather in the forums to discuss every character and story line, our staff comes together every week to analyze the latest developments from the latest episode.
Topics in this edition include: Adam vs. Sylar; Monica’s fate; and Heroes’ fates. Let’s get to the Q&A…
Worse talent: Elle at spying, or Peter at listening to reason? A. Hiro: Elle has to learn to save the Big Gulp for a post-spying treat… but Peter has gone from a Hero solely focused on saving the world in season one, to a lovestruck robot who seems to care so much about some Irish trollop that he can’t see how his new friend is a mass murderer.
Milover: Elle, although I admit to considerable bias. This question is a toss-up, but I have it from reliable sources that Milo Ventimiglia is a really cool guy in real life, so I refuse to go against Peter in any of my answers.
Timex: Peter. I was ready to strangle him. Elle, you can do no wrong in my eyes.
Better bad guy: Adam or Sylar? Milover: Sylar. Merely looking at that guy gives me the chills at this point. You’ve gotta to be morally bankrupt to ice some fool and then mack on his sister in the same day. That is some cold $h!t.
Timex: I think I prefer Adam. I might just be a sucker for his accent, but he seems way better at manipulating. I’m pretty sure Sylar’s only been able to manipulate the two biggest idiots on the show - Mohinder and Maya. And really now? Who hasn’t been able to manipulate Mohinder?
A. Hiro: Adam. Sylar is a cool serial killer, for sure. But the murderous Monroe seems to think he’s doing the world a favor (by wiping it out, of course). I like my villains with shades of grey. What will happen to Monica? Timex: I think she’s going to be initiated into their gang… bang.
A. Hiro: That souped up SUV she was thrown into must have DVD player in it. I foresee those thugs watching a preview of Iron Man… and then paying the ultimate price for it as Monica takes on the unstoppable qualities of that title character.
Milover: We’ll find out in 2009 when they pick this one up. You might assume that Monica, after using her superpowers to help recover the backpack, only to be apprehended, has some tricks up her sleeve. Well, given the way Season Two is going, this story should be dropped indefinitely, then made the subject of an entire episode 18 months from now. Come on, guys.
Slight Heroes spoiler alert: Which two characters, as teased in the preview, will die next week? A. Hiro: Mohinder’s purpose for being on the show died long ago. The doctor’s body will follow next. While my eyes hope I’m wrong in choosing Niki as the other character to perish, my head says I’m right. Her only real power was pretty being insane anyway.
Milover: Anyone but Claire, Peter, Hiro, Niki, Mohinder, Parkman, Nathan, Sylar, Mr. Bennet or Bob. Save these Heroes and you’ve still got a show.
Timex: Okay, just as a reminder, the preview had Nathan, Parkman, Claire, Hiro, and Elle shown. Picking two of these is nearly impossible, but I’m going to have to go with Nathan and Elle. Parkman is just learning his powers, Claire cannot seem to die, and Hiro is, well, the show. Sorry, guys, we have enough Petrellis and hot blondes without you.

Did David Anders know he’d be playing a dual role on Heroes when he signed up for the part?
That was one of many questions asked of the actor by BuddyTV. Here are excerpts from the interview:
When you first auditioned, what did you know? We assume they wanted to keep the twist that you’re also Kensei and Adam Monroe a little secret. So did you know you were auditioning for two roles?
Not really. No, not really. I think they fed me morsels at a time of information to inform my character arc. The Heroes set is shrouded in secrecy even from the Heroes actors.
As the scripts went along I kind of saw the direction it was going. I’d ask, you know I’d corner an executive producer or writer and say, “Come on, you’ve got to give it to me and tell me what the heck’s to come.” And they would. Still, even at this point I don’t know where Adam Monroe is going to end up. I don’t know, there’s some element of surprise and fun in that, but it can also be frustrating.
How late into the game then, after you got the role, did you find out that you’d stop being this you know, feudal Japanese hero and come into the future?
It was probably about five episodes in when I realized that, when they told me that. Masi Oka would come up and he’d have some information he heard from a writer and then I’d have to go corner that writer. Dig for information.

You may not have seen a lot of Zachary Quinto on Heroes so far this season. But fans will get their fill of this actor when he stars as Spock in the upcoming Star Trek movie.
With that role in mind, FHM has come out with a limited edition issue that features the actor on its cover. The magazine is only available for purchase here - but we have a couple sneak peaks at its Quinto layout below:

Some lucky writer at GQ got to sit down with Heroes star Hayden Panettiere for an interview in the most recent issue of that magazine.
Here are excerpts - and rather attractive photos - from that chat:
GQ: You’re not dating your Heroes costar Milo Ventimiglia, which is the gossip that’s flying around about you? Hayden Panettiere: No, I’m not. I love my castmates, and I adore Milo. He’s awesome, but we’re easy targets. We’re both young, and he’s one of the only people on the show not married with children.
GQ: What would be a good rumor to start about you? If someone were to put you together with a leading man, who would it be? Panettiere: God, it could be anyone from Leo DiCaprio to Justin Timberlake—or any girl. You want to make me a lesbian? That’s totally fine with me.
GQ: Okay. Well, who would be good? Panettiere:Um, let’s see. We could do a love affair with Angelina Jolie. We could do… Oh gosh, I love—there are so many beautiful girls. Charlize Theron. Oh, my God. Kate Beckinsale is gorgeous. Jessica Alba.

Welcome to our ninth Heroes Round Table.
While fans of the show gather in the forums to discuss every character and story line, our staff comes together every week to analyze the latest developments from the latest episode.
Topics in this edition include: HRG’s close call; Hiro’s decision; and Elle vs. Bob. Let’s get to the Q&A…
On a scale of 1-10, how loudly did you scream when you thought H.R.G. was dead? A. Hiro: 6. Not because I wasn’t shocked and dismayed. But because that’s how many windows broke in my apartment at my shrieks that the show would dare kill off its most dynamic character.
Milover: 4.5.
Timex: 11. HRG has become by far my favorite character. I vowed to never watch the show again when Mr. Bennet’s glasses first shattered. They producers are lucy they put his regeneration in this episode, and not next, or they would have lost a Heroes Fanatic.
Should Hiro have saved his father’s life? Milover: No. It was his destiny to die, as his father said. You can’t simply alter that (see Back to the Future Part II) just because you have the capabilities. Here’s hoping our Hiro brings Kensei to justice for this act, though.
Timex: No. I think Hiro has finally understood the concept of destiny and that you cannot change history. Do I need to sent you the first season of Heroes on DVD? Or maybe the Back to the Future trilogy? Not II and III, of course. I’m not that mean.
A. Hiro: I guess not. If Kaito never dies, Kensei is never a murderer and Hiro never makes it his mission to bring him down. And we all know Kensei has got to get what’s coming to him.
Will Elle use the information she learned about Bob against him? Timex: Absolutely. He’s ruined her life. She’s a basket case. She’ll continue to follow him for a little bit longer, but she will ultimately betray Bob for what he has done.
A. Hiro: Oh yes. And, to paraphrase Mr. Bennet, it’ll sting. Like a bitch.
Milover: You knew something would unnerve cold-as-ice Elle and potentially turn her against the diabolical Bob. I didn’t expect it to happen so soon, but this revelation clearly struck a chord with Elle, who won’t be a Company girl for long.
Worse decision: Mohinder shooting Mr. Bennet, or Parkman interrogating Mrs. Petrelli against her wishes? A. Hiro: Mohinder, to the maximum power. Wasn’t he trying to abduct Claire simply to take her blood and save Niki? So he’s willing to kill HRG in order to save Niki? Sounds like someone has a dangerous, irrational crush to me.
Milover: Shooting Mr. B. Bad form, Mohinder. This is not a man you simply f*%k with. What doesn’t kill Mr. Bennet will only make him stronger, and thanks to the last-minute transfusion of Claire’s blood, it looks like they didn’t finish the job. Prepare to reap the whirlwind, gentlemen.
Timex: Mrs Petrelli may be one scary woman to cross, but HRG eats Mrs. Petrellis for breakfast. Watch your back, Mohinder. Oh, and if HRG doesn’t kill you, I will.
