Heroes Caption Contest IV

Our staff doesn't know exactly what sort of wisdom Mr. Bennet was imparting on his little girl, Claire, but we do know that a certain water bottle played a prominent role in the scene.

Or so the reader "Iheartclaire" noted. Check out his humorous submission below the photo - and remember to take part in this game every week.

We will return to regularly scheduled Heroes action in 15 seconds. We now present some nifty product placement. Ozarka spring water: it's delicious!

Hayden Panettiere on Heroes Season One DVD

Before you buy your Heroes Season One DVD - and, really, what true fan won't make this purchase? - it helps to know which parts are best.

So let's listen to what Hayden Panettiere has to say about which special feature fans should check out first on the disc:

"I would say it would depend if they've seen the show or not. If they haven't seen the show, I would say watch the pilot - the two-hour pilot. I would say watch that first. And then maybe the deleted scenes, 'cause I'm having fun watching the deleted scenes - but that's probably only because I know what was deleted and what wasn't. There's some great stuff - there's some goofy commentaries, like I'm talking goofy commentaries.

Heroes at Play

I mean, I think I remember my commentary and I think they probably edited it, but everything on it is great. You know, I love DVDs and you get to go and look at the extras and find certain things."

The disc hits stores on August 28. But the most exciting Heroes news of the day so far is that Veronica Mars alum Kristen Bell is joining the cast!

Kristen Bell Coming to Heroes!

Kristen Bell Of all the guest stars or new regulars added to the Heroes season two cast - from Dianna Agron to David Anders - it's hard to imagine any garnering more excitement than this one:

Veronica Mars star Kristen Bell is coming aboard.

NBC has snagged Bell for a key multiepisode arc of Heroes. This is a major casting coup for the show, as the actress was being sought after by multiple other programs, including ABC's Lost.

Bell is likely to become even more well-known and popular, too, as her next gig is playing the lead role in Judd Apatow's upcoming Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

The actress will make her first Heroes appearance in October. She'll play Elle, a character described as a sexy, mysterious young lady who has ties to the supposed death of Peter, Mr. Bennet's past and the future of Claire. Those are a lot of connections for one character to possess.

Variety reports that Elle will kick off her arc by committing a serious crime, though it's unclear whether she's good or bad.

"This was not easy to pull off," said Heroes creator-exec producer Tim Kring. "But since we're an ensemble show, with many arcs playing out through the year, we found a way to jump into a small window in (Bell's) schedule."

Universal Media Studios prexy Katherine Pope also hinted that landing Bell wasn't easy, noting that "many studios (were) chasing her in both film and TV" and that she was happy that Bell "chose to star in our show."

Perhaps we should add Bell to our latest Heroes poll, huh? She'd win in a landslide.

Adrian Pasdar: Burn Victim?

We hope Adrian Pasdar is alright.

Reliable sources from the set of Heroes have told us that the actor has been seen around town with massive burns marks all over his face.

Fortunately, it's safe to assume this is simply another Heroes spoiler - remember, Nathan did fly off into the atmosphere with his exploding brother to end season one. That sort of thing can leave a scar.

For most of the off-season, meanwhile, Pasdar has been spotted with something else on his face: a full-grown beard. Check him out here with co-star Masi Oka:

Ali Larter Speaks on Marigold, Heroes Season Two

We've already heard Ali Larter talk about her upcoming movie, Resident Evil: Extinction.

But TV Guide recently sat down with the Heroes actress to talk about another film she's in, the Bollywood flick Marigold...

TVGuide.com: Let's be a bit introspective: Is this the same Ali Larter I spoke to a year ago? Following all this Heroes hoopla?
Ali Larter: Absolutely, absolutely. I love our show, and it has been such an amazing opportunity for me. In this industry we go through so many ebbs and flows, and right now I'm at this great place where I love working on the show and people are responding to it, I have movies coming out that were amazing journeys for me.... It's a fun time.

Ali Larter in MarigoldTVGuide.com: I saw Marigold last night, and it's different, fun, a sort of primer for Bollywood movies.
Larter: It is, it's a sweet little romantic comedy, and I think it gives people a taste of India. This movie stands on its own in its uniqueness. It's about this little bitter actress who gets [a part] in this Bollywood film; it's a fish-out-of-water story and a comedy of errors when you see the cultures collide.

TVGuide.com: As a career choice, did you figure the rewards outweighed the risk?
Larter: I don't ever worry about risks. The more risk, for me, the better. It was such a fun movie to do. We were working six days a week, 12 hours a day, it was so hot, but I was there and I got a chance to really experience this country. I was blown away by the generosity of the people and the women dressed in these blues and greens and oranges and reds, coming over the desert.... It was extraordinary.

TVGuide.com: My favorite part is when it almost turns into a Bollywood film, in a sort of fantasy sequence.
Larter: Right! It's just so fun. It's a Princess Diaries kind of movie. You can go with a date, or you can grab a bunch of girls and go and have fun.

TVGuide.com: One of Marigold's big obstacles is that she doesn't have particularly great dancing skills for a Bollywood production. Be honest — your own dancing skills going into this movie...?
Larter: [Sheepishly] Terrible. I'm not good. Put me in a club and I can dance till dawn. If you put me in a situation where I have to land on a mark? That presents a bit of a challenge. [Laughs]

TVGuide.com: I told myself that that works, though, since Marigold shouldn't evolve into a perfect dancer.
Larter: That's how I thought about it, also! In a Hollywood movie, you usually have six weeks to kind of rehearse. I had three days and did the best I could.

Heroes Spoilers: The Role, Future of Nichelle Nichols

We have some news on the role Nichelle Nichols will be playing on the second season of Heroes:

The former Star Trek actress will show up in the fourth episode. She' be portraying Nana, a New Orleans doyenne whose daughter died during Hurricane Katrina.

Nichelle Nichols "Nana is tough and undaunted and - like the blues - she just keeps rising to the occasion," Nichols said.

The character is in dire financial straits and has moved back into her once-flooded home, where she cares for her two grandchildren. One of them is new hero Monica (Dana Davis). This new star is an avenging angel intent on bringing justice to the corruption-plagued Big Easy.

Nana is also a great-aunt to Micah, the junior hero played by series regular Noah Gray-Cabey.

"Micah is sent to New Orleans to live with the family," Nichols said. "It's a quite marvelous, magical story, with wonderful things emerging."

Does Nana have a superpower?

"Well, that remains to be seen, now doesn't it?" teased Nichols.

Janel Parrish to Guest Star on Heroes

Say this about the growing number of new cast members and guest stars on Heroes: it's an eclectic bunch.

There's a former Alias star who is now a series regular: David Anders.

There's a Star Trek veteran of the big screen coming aboard for a few episodes: Nichelle Nichols.

And now there's Janel Parrish, an actress from the recent Bratz: The Movie who will play May, the head cheerleader at Claire's new school.

Janel Parrish

In addition to playing one of the leads in Bratz, which opened to an underwhelming $4.2 million at the box office two weekends ago, Parrish wrote and recorded a song for the film's soundtrack.

Maybe she can team up with Hayden Panettiere - another occasional singer - for a song-and-dance number on Heroes.

Milo Ventimiglia Photos from Zink Magazine

We've never heard of the magazine Zink before today.

But there's a good chance we'll pick up a copy of the upcoming issues featuring a slew of Milo Ventimiglia photos.

As you can tell by the images below, the shoot is especially artistic, with the man who portrays Peter Petrelli shown gazing into a mirror, pondering life outside a car and lots more.

Zink Magazine Shoot

Also in the article, Ventimiglia says the following about Heroes: "What really shows me how successful the show has become is the range of fans: anyone from an 80-year-old woman to a little kid who can barely even open his mouth because he thinks I can fly."
