According to actress Brea Grant, we'll find out who her character is working for on tonight's Heroes episode. Any ideas? We predict Arthur Petrelli.
What else is in store for Daphne this season? Grant spoke to TV Guide about upcoming developments...
TVGuide.com: Future Daphne seems a lot more mellow than the thief Hiro has been chasing. Will there be friction when Parkman doesn't find the Daphne he's expecting?
Grant: He's a little thrown. We definitely seem like opposites at this point in time. Daphne is very playful, but she has to make some hard decisions about where her life is going, so she may calm down a bit. She sees all these things happen involving the formula and she has to make decisions about who she ends up with – which may or may not be the future that you saw.
TVGuide.com: Is that why she was so hung up on the track medal? Wouldn't winning a high school meet be boring for her?
Grant: That would reveal a secret I can't tell you. But it will play a bigger part than people realize. Her motivations for what she's doing are complicated, and some of the decisions she has to make involve who she's working for.
So far for Brea Grant on Heroes, so good.
The actress, who stars as Daphne on the new season, told USA Today that she's loved playing the nemesis to Masi Oka's Hiro so far.
"It's been really fun to play out the comedy, in that he thinks he's a hero and she's not having it," said Grant.
Daphne speeds ahead four years on tonight's Heroes episode.
As for what lies ahead for Grant?
"Daphne gets a little more serious, but she's still sort of spacey and funny," the actress said. "She definitely has to deal with a lot more drama. This is Heroes, after all."
We've already heard a lot from new Heroes actress, Brea Grant.
Recently, she talked more at length about her speedy character - and Hiro's upcoming nemesis - Daphne.
“I wouldn’t say that deep down she’s a terrible person or anything,” said Grant. “She’s no Sylar, but she’s a thief. I think in the end she’s sort of an innocent. She’s been a thief for a long time, she’s been on her own and had to take care of herself. Now all of the sudden she is faced with these people who have these much bigger issues at stake and that’s going to change the way she reacts to things."
Grant went on to reveal some definite Heroes spoilers: Linderman will be back! Grant said she worked with the actor that portrays him.
“I got to work with Malcolm McDowell and it was amazing,” she said. “He’s so cool and has about a million stories. He’s also the ultimate bad guy. He’s so evil that it’s cool.”
As previously reported, Brea Grant joins the cast of Heroes for season three. She'll play the role of Daphne, also known as "The Speedster."
And just how will these speedy villain make her entrance?
"Anytime I come into a room, basically you see this wave of air blown on everybody and then I'm just standing there because I'm so fast you can hardly see me when I move," the actress told Entertainment Weekly. "You meet my character for the first time when I steal something from Hiro that he needs for his quest this season."
As long as that quest doesn't take him back to feudal Japan, this sounds great to us.
Grant added that Daphne's "interest is not specifically with Hiro... I think that's why she'll run into a lot more people she's feeling a lot of stuff toward someone else. That's all I can tell you!"
In closing, the actress - last seen on the small screen on Friday Night Lights - said she's currently shooting the sixth episode of the season.
"I start off pretty bad, but there are some times when I have to make choices, you know, you can be worse, you can be better," Grant said. "It's just this whole idea of being a bad guy. You'll see some of your favorite characters have to do some things they don't want to do."
Let's get one thing straight, before we hear what Brea Grant has to say about her new character on Heroes: she'll be named Daphne, as opposed to previous reports that linked her to a character named Joy.
With that out of the way, here's what else Grant told The Associated Press about her role in the upcoming season:
"I'm stealing a secret that's been kept in Hiro's family for a long time that he's just now found... He stops time right as I grab it, but in that second it took him to grab it, I almost make it out of the office."
Masi Oka chimed in about the character he'll be facing off against:
"Her character is supposed to be Hiro's Joker. Batman has The Joker. Hiro has Daphne. This is the season where Hiro finally finds his arch nemesis, and it happens to be this Speedster. I kind of equate it more to Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner, except Daphne says more than meep-meep.'"
